Blood Money (Blood Money Organization) released a statement on April 5 reporting that over 250 schools across the country have been targeted by airstrikes from the terrorist military. From February 2021 to March 2026—over five years—the military bombed a total of 251 schools nationwide via air attacks.

Including children under 10, a total of 276 students and teachers were killed, with 686 suffering severe injuries, as detailed in the Blood Money report.

“It’s heartbreaking; they are heroes who sacrificed for the nation’s future—the survivors must fight even harder,” said a CDM teacher from Ayeyarwady Region. “The junta pushes to intimidate, commit genocide, destroy education so they can rule generations.”

According to Blood Money’s records, excluding Yangon and Naypyidaw, all other regions and states saw school airstrikes, with Sagaing Region hit worst at 58 schools.

Rakhine had 30 schools bombed, Shan South and North 36, Karen 24, Chin 21, Kachin 5, Mandalay 17, Magway 27, Bago 9, Ayeyarwady 2, Kayah 16, Mon 4, and Tanintharyi 2.

These 251 schools were struck by aircraft bombs; attacks using heavy weapons, drones, or other methods are not included in this tally.
