The terrorist military conducted an airstrike targeting a clinic in Gyobingauk Township, Bago Region, according to local residents.
On September 7, around 3:00 PM, junta forces used a drone to drop bombs on the clinic in the Yone Chaung village tract, despite there being no active armed clashes in the area. The drone strike caused significant damage to the clinic’s buildings.
“The clinic was built and completed in 2020. It wasn’t built by the NUG; it was constructed during the NLD government’s term. No civilian homes were damaged, only the clinic was destroyed. There are no revolutionary forces stationed at that location; they only pass through occasionally,” a local resident of Gyobingauk stated.
Following the junta’s drone attack, terrified civilians have been forced to flee their village. Locals report that they only dare to return to their homes temporarily when the sounds of gunfire and bombings cease.
“When people hear the sound of weapons, they run. When they think it’s quiet and safe, they come back. We are living in constant fear, like startled crows. Because the terrorist military seized power, the clinic hadn’t even been officially opened yet,” the resident continued.
In a previous attack on August 5, the military junta used a Y-12 aircraft to drop two 250-pound bombs on In Taing Kone village, which is also located in the Yone Chaung village tract of Gyobingauk Township. That airstrike injured six civilians who are still receiving medical treatment today.
