Cyber Police and Mae Sot Police officers raided an apartment in the Mae Pa sub-district of Mae Sot, Tak Province, on the morning of August 5 under a court-issued search warrant. Authorities discovered the premises were being used as an operational base for the online gambling website TH2.VIP and arrested a 23-year-old man.
During the raid, authorities seized multiple items used for the online gambling operation as evidence, including desktop computers, laptops, mobile phones, internet routers, and numerous promotional documents for the gambling website.
According to the arrested suspect’s confession, he rented the apartment and worked as a website administrator. His responsibilities included guiding gamblers, opening accounts, facilitating deposit and withdrawal services, and answering customer inquiries in rotating 24-hour shifts.
Mae Sot Police stated that the suspect earned a monthly salary of 15,000 Baht as an operations supervisor. He had been working there for approximately five months, servicing various online gambling formats on the website, including Slots, fish shooting games, and Baccarat.
The suspect has been charged with illegally advertising online games, inviting and persuading others to participate in gambling, and operating an online gambling business without permission. Mae Sot Police have announced that they will continue to investigate and uncover connected networks.
